How do I setup email on Outlook 2003?

Use the following steps to configure email for Outlook 2003.

If you have cPanel hosting, make sure you have created an email account first.

  1. Start Outlook 2003
  2. Click ‘Tools’
  3. Select ‘E-Mail Accounts’
  4. Ensure the ‘Add a new e-mail account’ option is selected and click ‘Next’
  5. Ensure ‘Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP’ is selected and click ‘Next’
  6. Select either ‘IMAP’ or ‘POP3’ and click ‘Next’
  7. Choose if you will use a secure (SSL) connection or not
  8. Fill in the details on the Internet E-Mail Settings Screen
  • The ‘User Name’ will be your full email address
  • The Password will be the password you chose when setting up the account

9. If not using SSL

  • 1.The ‘Incoming mail server’ should be hostname
  • The ‘Outgoing mail server’ should be hostname
  • Select ‘Next’
  • Click ‘Finish’

10. If using SSL

0.The ‘Incoming mail server’ should be hostname

  • If you are on Website or Reseller hosting, enter the domain name you get when you access your-domain-name/cpanel

1. The ‘Outgoing mail server’ should be hostname

  • If you are on Website or Reseller hosting, enter the domain name you get when you access your-domain-name/cpanel

2.Click ‘More Settings’

3.Select the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab

4.Ensure there is a tick in ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’

5.Select ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’

6.Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab

7.Under the Incoming server, tick the ‘This server requires an encrypted connection’ box

8.Under the Outgoing server, tick the ‘This server requires an encrypted connection’ box

9.Ensure the number for the outgoing server is 587

10.Select ‘Ok’

11.Click ‘Next’

12.Click ‘Finish’

You will now be able to send and receive email in Outlook 2003, you can verify this by sending yourself an email
