How to connect FTP over SSL/TLS over Filezilla

For the safety reasons, we recently enabled FTP over SSL/TLS on our Shared Linux servers. Plain text authentication (Clear Text Session) will now not work on our Linux servers. For the Linux users we would recommend to use FTP client like FileZilla, CuteFTP to upload their web contents. Use subsequent steps to add files/folders using FileZilla FTP client.

Create Site

  1. Click on File >> Site Manager >> New Site.
  2. Below steps are the desired fields to fill up.
    • Host: Insert Hostname (i.e. Ftp.Yourdomain.Com) or IP address which we have provided you in Welcome e-mail.
    • Port: 21 (Default FTP port is 21; you may also hold it blank).
    • FTP port is 21; you may also hold it blank).
    • Protocol: FTP – File Transfer Protocol.
    • Encryption: Select essential specific FTP over TLS from dropdown list.
    • Logon Type: Choose Normal from the dropdown menu.
    • User: Your FTP username.
    • Password: Your FTP Password.
  3. Hit on the Connect button, if you want to temporary connect otherwise click on OK button to keep the details.

  1. Once you click on connect button, it will ask for the certificate trust. Click on the checkbox “Always trust with Certificate in future sessions”
  2. Click on OK button.

If you are nevertheless unable to connect using the below steps, you could submit the ticket from client area. You can also provoke a chat session from the website.
