Setting up Chrome Mail To Handler to Default to Gmail

Issue:

You want email links in websites when navigating with the Chrome browser to open in Gmail.

Solution:

Navigate to Gmail.

In the URL bar, click on the Handler icon as shown below:

The option to use the website as an email handler will be provided. Choose the best option.

If you do not see this indicator, the email handler was probably already configured.

You may check by going to Chrome’s settings by clicking on the three dots symbol, which is visible at the top right of your browser.

  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Site Settings
  • Click Handlers

You can manage your handler settings here.  You can remove a handler or change default.
