Finding a Deleted or Missing Folder or File in Google Drive

You must sign into Google Drive through your web browser if you had this issue with Drive File Stream or Backup and Sync.

You can access the Trash button on Google Drive’s left side menu if the item in question was deleted.image depicting where the trash icon is located under google drive

If you are the owner of the missing folder or file, you may also use the search bar to look for the item’s name.

If you’re not the owner, choose the Shared with me option from the menu on the left.
You can view all the items that have been shared with you by clicking the Shared with me button.
You can locate the folder or file by navigating the shared items.

You must first right-click the shared object and choose Add to My Drive before you can add it to your drive.image depicting how to add a file to my drive

It should be noted that utilising Google Drive’s search bar will search all files that you own and have been shared with you.
