A CSR is an unsigned copy of your SSL certificate. Certificate authorities will use this Certificate Signing Request to generate a signed digital certificate.
A CSR contains –
- Comprehensive information about your organization
- Public Key of the Web Server
- A mathematical equivalent to your server’s private key
