Hardware requirements for Plesk

Hardware resources are necessary for Plesk Obsidian.

Minimum Requirements for Plesk

• The minimum amount of RAM required for installing and running Plesk on Linux is 1 GB + 1 GB swap. On Windows – 2 GB of RAM.
• The minimum amount of free disk space required for installing and running Plesk is 20 GB on Linux and 32 GB on Windows

Recommended requirements for Plesk

We advise having at least 1GB of RAM every 40–50 websites in a typical shared Windows Hosting arrangement. Therefore, 200 websites would suggest that Plesk needs hardware with a least of 4GB. These presumptions serve as the foundation for our recommendation:

About 10% of websites are active on shared hosting servers on a weekly basis, which means that 10% of websites have consistent traffic.

• 128MB of RAM would suffice for most websites. For example:
• 64MB for WordPress
• 64MB for Joomla
• 128MB for Drupal
• 128MB for Symfony

No more than 1 to 3 simultaneous visitors per webpage, with a daily cap of 500 unique visitors per website.
Higher traffic websites will need additional RAM, between 500MB and 1GB for each website (for instance, 5 to 10 concurrent visitors and a daily average of 1,000 to 30,000 visitors).

Remember that you need enough disk space for memory swapping because of Plesk hardware requirements.
