Can I choose email address listed for my domain in WhoIs as approval address for SSL certificate?

Due to security reasons, the approver email for SSL certificates can be sent either to a generic email address from the list below or to an email address from Whois.

The generic email addresses are:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

The Whois email can be hidden by the protection systems such as WhoisGuard or Privacy Protection. When enabling the protection, you will be able to specify the email where the protection will forward to. A protected email should not cause any issues.

If the Whois email is not displayed during activation, or the obsolete email is offered instead of the recently updated one, you would need to contact us in Live Chat or submit us a ticket with a request to change the validation email. Please be aware that the Whois email should be displayed in official online databases such as whois.com.

The approver email address is to be chosen during the activation of your certificate.
